Biography

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of West Florida. I joined the Department in the fall of 2016 as a Visiting Assistant Professor. I love collaborating with other researchers and especially enjoy including students in these collaborations. Most recently, I have been working with others to investigate the design of STEM gateway courses through a U.S. Department of Education Title III grant.

Projects

Collaborative Research I have ongoing collaborations with faculty in the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, and Physics. If you are interested in learning about collaborative statistics, please contact me!

Methodological Research My area of research is in the modeling of spatially correlated outcomes resulting from imaging data. In particular, I investigate model misspecificiation in the frequentist framework. If you are interested in learning about simulation studies and/or this application of spatial methods, please contact me!

Proseminar

I currently have space for one student for Fall 2022 and two students for Spring 2023.

Please note that I require students to identify their topic and begin researching prior to the semester that they are enrolled in Proseminar. I’ve found that by beginning early, students feel less pressure during the semester they are enrolled and complete Proseminar.
